Hi everyone,

Up for hot debate is this recent article on Daily Mail about a woman who was fired from her job because they thought she wore “too much” makeup. I know a lot of workplaces enforce a dress code, but Francine worked at the hospital for over 3 years before her employers had an issue with her appearance. She even claims she was interviewed for her cleaning position wearing her “Egyptian-style” makeup, so if her supervisors had a problem with it, don’t you think they should have addressed it right away?

Francine may have a more exotic makeup look, but it’s not scary, and she does it really well. I would actually even consider really bright makeup to be more distracting than intense or exotic makeup! Besides, isn’t self-expression one of the main points of makeup in the first place?

What do you think about this? Do any of you have to follow a makeup “dress code” for your job or school?
