There are a lot of unusual eyebrow trends these days… One that recently caught my eye (ha ha) is the invisible eyebrow trend. Have you guys noticed this one?
The photo at the top is of model Daphne Groeneveld. If you look at the photo from far away, it really does look like her eyebrows are invisible. (And check out those spidery lashes…eek!) Below is another photo, this one from the H&M line that was inspired by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; all of the models’ makeup is made to resemble that of Rooney Mara’s in the film:
I’m not a fan of these, but it gets you thinking about how beauty is perceived differently. For example, during the Renaissance, women would shave their brows so that their foreheads would appear larger, therefore giving the illusion of intelligence. They thought this was beautiful because intelligence was perceived as beautiful in that time, so it’s kind of funny that this is becoming a trend again.
If anything, I think this trend shows you how powerful a nice sculpted brow is, and how different you can look without one.
