Hi everyone,
Sneakers have been stepping into the fashion spotlight recently, and I really like all of the different ways you can play up a classic. Wedged sneakers, embellished Converse, and funky designs have been getting some love, and this trend is totally fall appropriate and customizable.
You can easily take note from designers like Isabel Marant and Marc Jacobs and jazz up your own pair of sneaks without breaking the bank. There are a few simple things you can change to play up a pair you already own, laces being the easiest. Mix things up by trading in your plain white laces for a set in a bright color, interesting pattern, or different size. You can also try a different way of lacing your shoes to give your sneaks an upgrade; try some of these options below:

If you're feeling really artsy, a pair of white sneakers is the perfect blank canvas for some colorful expression. Add some color and cool designs with some sharpie markers to give your shoes that extra bit of you.
How do you jazz up your sneakers?

I love a pair of good quality sneakers. I have a Converse-esque pair that I want to decorate that are just sitting there collecting dust cause I dont have the paints yet. The shoelace website is really cool! I'll definitely try those out on my actual pair of Converse, though I'm not sure how cause theyre knee length...

Haha @harleygurl38 same!! I hate wearing sneakers honestly, but I'll be the first to admit they're becoming more and more stylish!

i'd like to get some different coloured shoelaces and recreate some of those designs, they look much prettier than ordinary criss-crossing!

Because I'm small, I like to wear heels, but they're so uncomfortable at school! So I wear sneakers with 2 different, bright coloured shoe laces.

These woven designs look great! I've never really done anything like those before, but I do have a funky shoe lace collection! It's kind of small, but I love them~

I almost never wear anything with shoelaces! I'd love to get a pair of lace-up Docs though :P

My friend was poor, but wanted something really nice for her feet for her wedding. Her brother was a tattoo artist, but is also great with airbrushing. He did these amazing designs on a pair of plain white sneakers! It was so cool (though he'll kill her if she wears them again).

I've been doing this for some months now, and changing the color of the laces really creates a nice effect. It adds more personality to the outfit, and increases the possibilities to play with one pair of sneakers...so versatile!
I love converse! If it were possible I'd wear them all year long hahaha
Great post Michelle :D

This is so simple, but I never would have even thought about just switching up the look of your laces to make your sneakers cooler! Thanks!
