Hi everyone,
It might sound gross, but snail slime has actually become a popular ingredient in a variety of beauty products around the world.
Wait... what?
Apparently, the active ingredients found in snail extract have been known to slow premature aging by protecting the skin from harmful elements in the environment. Aside from allowing them to slither along surfaces, a snail's slime is rich in glycolic acid and elastin, which also protects their bodies from bacteria, cuts, and other damaging factors. Creams and products containing snail leftovers are also marketed to smooth skin, treat acne and heal burns because proteins in this sticky substance remove dead cells and helps to restore skin.
Most of the slime hype has popped up in South America and South Korea, and can be found in a variety of products from BB creams to body butters. As with other beauty trends, I have a feeling this one will slowly make its way across waters, too.
Have you heard about this trend before? Would you ever use a beauty product made with snail extract?
<3 Mish

i been using snail creams since 1 year ago or so :D and actually they're really great (: also i saw a video that in the malls they put the snail on the faces of ppl and after the snail walks around the face the person touch the face and they say is really soft and it works more than a snail cream (:

My friend used snail cream for her acne and it cleared up really fast but she stopped using it because she already has beautiful skin. I really want to try this because I have acne and rosacea. I heard this is very good for those types of skin problems. Plus, I break out ocassionally too so it sucks even more. :( I really want something that can bring many benefits.

Why is everyone so grossed out? Squeemish, much? I dunno. If it was easily available and cheap, I'd definitely give it a try. :P

It's a super normal ingredient in asia. I use Tony Moly live snail essence toner and eye cream everyday.

I used a pressed powder with snail slime about a year ago. I liked it. It was cheap and mached my skin tone (it was supposed to adapt to any skin tone) but I didn't really see a difference between this pressed powder and the one I normally use. I gave one to my sister, who has acne, and she said she liked it. The only thing I didn't like is the smell. It was a little chemically.

I've used Snail Renew Cream by Missha M before. Just a couple of samples. I actually really liked how it made my skin look and feel, but I don't know the long term effects. It sounds gross, but when you get used to it (I know some people would never WANT to get used to it...), it actually feels pretty nice to put on.

Lol I was kind of hipster about this...When I was younger my brother used to pat me on the head all the time which I hated, and I knew he hated snails, so I told him (it wasn't true of course) that I was using a har product that contained ground-up snail shells to het him to stop patting me on the head...turns out I wan't that far from the truth!

This is disguisting! No, not putting on snail slime on your face, but it's CRUEL to the snails! What did they do exactly to get that slime in the first place?
Gosh, animal cruelty is disguisting..but then again, you ARE the Lancome spokesperson, and Lancome tests on animals..I guess this isn't really that big of a deal for you, huh?

that sounds disgusting! but if it works i guess i'll use it!
