I think the first time I had coconut water was at a Vietnamese restaurant when I was a kid. Back then, coconut water was definitely not trendy. In fact, I didn’t care for it that much. As my palette has changed over the years, I’ve come to really enjoy the taste. While I would prefer a fresh, young coconut over the packaged kind, it’s not always easy getting ahold of the real thing. So with all the boxed, bottled, and canned coconut water that’s available now, I’m on the hunt for the best one. Here are a few that I’ve tried and liked:
Perhaps one day I will conduct a legitimate taste test to be a legitimate coconut water connoisseur (if I do, I will be sure to write a follow up). As an amateur, I will say that I’m not a fan of the ones that contain additives or flavors. For me, it’s all about 100% pure coconut water.
Scooping out the meat is the best part! Mmm!
Nothing beats a fresh, young coconut. Coconuts in their young stage of growth pack the most health benefits. According to Wikipedia and WebMD, coconut water is packed with potassium, antioxidants and cytokinins (anti-aging hormones). And as one of the highest natural sources of electrolytes, it’s a great way to replenish after a sweaty workout. If you’re lucky and you live by an Asian market, you can probably get a box of 9 for about $10!
Hydration and antioxidants… how can coconut water not be good for the skin? Yup, that’s me happily drinking a fresh young coconut and my skin looks pretty darn good.
Would I drink coconut water everyday? Maybe. But it can definitely get expensive and plain H2O is still the best way to hydrate. What if I lived under a coconut tree? Yes, I would drink it everyday.

We have a coconut tree in our backyard. :) We usually get to drink fresh coconut water every other month or so. :) -
Lol. Tender coconuts? *opens window, pluck one out of the coconut tree*
Ppl used to laugh at me when I say I like coconuts but no one really realised how wonderful n beneficial they are. :) -
Where I live is pretty common to find it, and you usually enjoy to drink it when it's a hot outside. The only bad thing is the coconut water lows your blood pressure, so if you drink a lot of it, you'll feel pretty bad later. -
i'm so lucky 'cause here in our country, coconut trees are everywhere! :D we just hire someone to climb the tree then we eat and drink. ^_^ -
This sorta amuses me XD.
Because over here in my country, this is WAY TOO common :D
We usually get it all the time :'D
I never knew it was that worthy in other areas, XD
We just step out, and hey; there it is~ easy peasy~

There are a bunch of Asian supermarkets near me, and being Chinese myself, me and my family tend to shop there a lot! Coconut water is really easy to find there, but I agree that it doesn't taste as good straight from the coconut itself. Down in the Caribbean the coconuts are delicious. -
I recently jumped onto the coconut water bandwagon. I absolutely LOVE Taste Nirvana's coconut water with pulp. Its so good! There are no additives, just natural coconut water from Thailand. You can order it from amazon at a discounted price. I highly recommend! -
My boyfriend and I love coconut water and have been drinking it for about 2 years when we first discovered it. We have tried quite a few different brands... but by far our favorite is the grace coconut water. It is sooooo delicious! It has little chunks of coconut jelly in it too. YUM! If you can find that brand I highly recommend it! Coconut water is so refreshing... but nothing beats a real coconut! When I was little I went on vacation to Barbados with my mom and we had fresh coconuts... they chop it in half and give you a straw and a spoon. It was amazing! ...ahhh, now I am craving coconut!! -

It only became a bit expensive here in the Philippines when they flashed the news that some celebrities endorsed coconut water. After strenuous work out this coconut water is better than sports drink.I <3 coconut water! =) -
Here in El Salvador we have 100% real and pure coconuts! haha :'D they are so delicious! we have lots of coconut trees! :')!! -
As an islander I get prefer to get my coconuts from the 99cent store instead of paying almost $5 for Zico coconut water. Plus I dont even think its organic because that specific coconut water I always get heart burn. But when I drink natural coconut water from a young coconut I have no problem at all. Sometimes you can find Zico/One coconut water(11.2 ounce) at the 99cent store.-
I got your reply from my comment but I couldn't comment back =( I've tried real coconuts before but I absolutely can't stand the taste of it. I don't know why but I hate the taste and smell of coconuts =/ -
haha the funny thing is that I can eat thai food XD But I mainly only eat pad thai! No coconut dishes for me. I can't stand coconut scented perfumes either! Cucumber perfume is awesome too haha

Coconut Nirvana is the best I've ever tasted. I used to work at an organic grocery store called MOM's Organic Market and I would drink coconut water every day. I've tried many many brands. :)
