Hi everyone,
Even though summer is quickly coming to a close, the weather is still scorching, which is not so great for makeup. I was looking through the Forum and noticed that a lot of you are curious about makeup setting sprays. If makeup primers and tinted moisturizers aren't doing the trick for you, these sprays might be worth considering because they act as a sealant.
Essentially, makeup setting sprays create a protective layer over your makeup. This will prevent your makeup from fading and sliding around as the day or night progresses. An added bonus is that they often contain vitamins and refreshing ingredients such as cucumber. Makeup setting sprays also a add dewy, luminous finishing touch to the face–instant, easy glamour that won't fade!
These are great for the weird in-between weather, but they're also great for when you're out on the town and need your glamorous look to last the whole night. Some sprays waterproof the makeup itself so that you can swim and sweat without disrupting the look you've achieved.
Check out these makeup setting sprays, and decide which one best suits your needs:

setting sprays are a must for me. i live in virginia beach, va and we are known to have bi-polar weather. the highs can be in the 40's one day, raining the next day, and can have pretty spring weather in the 70's the next. it keeps all my makeup in place and keep it looking like i applied it in the beginning of the day no matter what the weather. -
I always have trouble with my makeup rubbing off during the day even though I powder my face like most people. I find that these types of sprays usually don't don't work on my skin. Is it just me or does anyone else experience that? -
I've tried all listed except for the MAC spray
1. the Elf spray doesnt work, and in fact i feel like it actually wipes off my makeup. the spray is so strong so if you do try it be sure to hold the bottle an arms length away. if someone manages to find a way to make it work I'd be really interested in hearing about it.
2. the urban decay all nighter is complicated. overall, id say look for something better. if you follow directions, only applying 1 or 2 sprays, it definitely wont work. also- dont use it alone- best results come with also using primer. i have on 1 or 2 occasions noticed good results but that was when i applied 2 sprays, re-touched with my bronzer/blush/powder, and then applied 2 more sprays.
has anyone tried MAC? i know their products work, have a lot of stay and color power, but i also know that some of their products are horrible for your skin. -
Does the e.l.f. Spray have any vitamins, or anything? I also wanted to know if it was good for sensitive skin, and if it would last through gym!!!! -

I use the Urban Decay one, mainly bc I love the way it sprays more than anything!! I've used Model In A Bottle, and the sprayer on that thing pelted me in the face with a strong stream and the smell was too alcholy. I like to think these sprays keep your makeup on all day, but the fact of the matter is, I really think it's wishful thinking - especially if you perspire a lot...

i love the UD all nighter! :) the e.l.f doesnt do much and i dont like the way it feel on ur face. havent try the MAC yet :P
-
btw I have used the UD setting spray and I broke out really bad and it made my face super oily. So if you have sensitive acne prone skin this is your warning.

I always use MAC Fix+. I find it works best when combined with setting powder and when using mineral foundation. I have sensitive combo skin and I use Korres setting powder and Sephora mineral foundation compact. When I don't feel like using a powder mineral foundation I use a good BB cream foundation combinded with setting powder. My favorite BB foundation is MISSHA M Perfect cover.

Never used one, but have heard of all of them. Maybe I'll try the elf one, but I really want the UD one.... have heard AWESOME things about that one. Have heard a few good things about the MAC one, but not so much on this website. Hm. I'll have a look.

I only put on eyeshadows primer and it helps eyeshadows to stay all day long^^
But it's true that I don't wear foundation so I don't know if foundation lasts or not^^;;;

I have pretty dry skin so I havent thought of trying it, foundation primer has been working great for me!

I have the Makeup Fix+ and it doesn´t make my makeup hold on any longer. I tried it wothout applying primer first nad the makeup became all smuggy....I thing that´s how you wirte it, wright?

Thank you for the optional ones.

I'm using the MAC fix + spray but even so my make up doesn't stay put for long. I've tried a lot of products but still haven't found the perfect one for my oily skin. The worst part are my oily lids, after a couple of hours my eye shadow will have disappeared or gotten into my crease leaving a heavy smudgy line.

Sweet! Elf has one! I'm gonna have to get that! I have super oily skin, and makeup rarely stays on by the 5th hour or so, and sometimes I'm wearing makeup for 13 hours or more, so that would be AWESOME! Thanks Mish!
