Hi everyone,
Perfume is one of the most convenient beauty products out there. It's easy to use, pre-mixed, packaged, and instantly ready whenever you need it. But if you're curious about how scents are made and have a little extra time on your hands, you may want to check out essential oils. You can usually find a variety of them at grocery stores and beauty supply shops.
Essential oils can be used as perfume for a simple, pure scent, and, depending on whether or not you believe in the benefits of aromatherapy, the oils can also be used to stabilize your mood and to promote relaxation. You can even mix and match different oils to create different scents – it's like creating your own perfumes at home!

Lavender – Calming, relaxing, soothing, and balancing. I love to put this on right before bed!
Rose – Uplifting, romantic
Eucalyptus – Purifying, invigorating
Peppermint – Refreshing, cooling, vitalizing
Lemon – Uplifting, cheering, refreshing
Jasmine – Calming, relaxing, sensual, romantic
*Full disclosure that this oil is pricier than most. The flowers must be hand-picked just before dawn, when the essence is at its peak, and then large amounts are needed to produce even a small amount of oil.
Rosemary – Clarifying, invigorating
What's your favorite essential oil? Do you combine them to make your own scents? Post your faves in the comments section!

Just to say, its not good to put essential oil on your skin by itself. It's very concentrated, and can be damaging. Mix it with something like jojoba oil that is scentless.

I actually re-fill used up plug-in air fresheners with essential oil. A lot cheaper then buying the $5 replacements when you can get the oils at the dollar store :)

My favourite essential oil is Lavender. Even though my shower gel also use Lavender scents. I don't know why I feel romantic because of this scent? Haha! Anyway, Lavender is my favourite essential oil. :)

The body shop in NYC lures you in with the mix scented oils. I walked in because all of the different captivating smells and ended up buying a few. I Found that the oil scents last longer than the average perfume scent straight out of a bottle. I will try the jasmine next <3.

I do this all the time. I have an air room spray which can also be used on myself too that I made from cinnamon, jasmine, frankinsence, orange blossom and sandlewood. Heavenly. I would like to note you need to use a carrier oil or distilled water. You want distilled water preferably because it has all the minerals removed which may react with the properties in the oils if not used fast enough it also creates a better quality spray. For the body just add a carrier oil which would include but is not limited to jojoba oil, coconut oil, apricot kernal oil, seseme oil, almond oil etc. make sure it's body grade otherwise it will go rancid quickly! A few drops go a long way and I recommend starting off in small amounts with both oil and scents since they won't stay fresh for years and years like synthetic perfumes will. Also, rose absolute is pricey. It takes at least a 1000 flowers for even a half of a ounce, so is frankinsence and sandlewood. Both are about 30-50 for a pure .5 ounce bottle.
