Over the next couple of days, I’m going to be sharing my favorite homemade beauty recipes for summer. Today, it’s all about my replenishing and redness reducing, Avocado Tea Face Mask, which is great for all skin types! First, I recommend visiting your local farmer’s market to buy your fruits and veggies, you should support your local farmers!
So here we have a nice ripe avocado fruit.
Cut it in half, try not to cut yourself! Remove the seed. Plant it in the ground if you want an avocado tree, haha! ;)
You’ll only need half of an avocado for the mask, the rest you can eat! Avocado is super yummy in a salad!
Avocado has high amounts of vitamin B12 and fatty acids. This will replenish and repair your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. It’s excellent for moisturizing and nourishing any kind of dry, mature or dehydrated skin.
It also contains mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids, including Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D, and E….so basically, it’s good for you…
Take a mixing bowl, add in your avocado and two tablespoons of powdered green tea.
The green tea will calm your skin, reducing redness.
Here, I have an assortment of green tea leaves! Not all green tea is the same, there are many kinds that you can choose from!
So make yourself a nice cup of green tea, and let it seep for 20-30 seconds, depending on the type of tea you have.
Strain the tea, and here you have a nice cup of freshly brewed green tea, but we won’t be needing this, we’re going to be using the brewed green tea leaves instead!
Take about a table spoon of your tea leaves, and add it to your mixture, and mix it really well.
The best part about making this mask is recycling all the parts! You can eat the rest of the unused avocado and drink the brewed green tea! Green tea has antioxidant properties, which helps to combat free radicals of our skin and slows the aging process. It has strong detoxifying qualities which helps flush out toxins, helping the skin retain a healthy appearance.
So now, just apply it on your clean face!
This mask is good for a week, and I recommend using it every night until it’s all gone! Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and rinse it right off. You’ll feel the difference right away! I recommend storing your mask in a container and keeping it in the fridge.
And just for fun, snap a pic of yourself wearing this mask of green goodness and then post a link to your photo here. Let’s see how many cute green faces we can get in the comment section below!
