Do You Wear Makeup at the Gym?

Hi everyone,

I received a very interesting message recently and I thought I’d address it here. Check it out:

At first glance, most people would probably dismiss this question–thinking that it’s pointless to wear makeup when you’re just going to sweat it all off! However, I’m a firm believer in the mantra: when you look good, you feel good! And for some people, looking good while at the gym might mean feeling more motivated to work out–which is a good thing! I mean, why do you think people invest in colorful, great fitting workout attire and cute running shoes? ;) I’m not encouraging anyone to head to the gym wearing a full face of makeup–that’s just silly! See example below:

However, if you want a few simple ways to look good while working out at a public gym, here are my thoughts on how to do that.

Bring the focus to your hair by sporting a neat up-do that will keep you flyaway-free while you workout. You can pull your hair back into a clean and simple ponytail, or try a trendy top-knot, or a fun braided hairstyle (or both!).

Here are a few ideas for inspiration:

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, $11.49 / Boots No.7 Quick Thinking 4-in-1 Wipes, $7

Beyond that, here are five key items to keep in your gym bag for use before and after your workout:

Eyelash Curler / Waterproof Mascara / Tinted Moisturizing Lip Balm

Tinted Moisturizer / Cheek Stain
