My Touch-Up Essentials

Hi everyone,

During our LIVE Back-to-School chat, a lot of you asked me which beauty products I feel are essential to get through the school day. For anyone who missed my answer, here are a few key items to have on hand for touch-ups at school or work–and one easy way to get everything you need on a budget!

  • Cheek tint that doubles as a lip color. Try the Benetint Pocket Pal, it’s perfect for your touch-up kit because it’s compact and looks just as great on your cheeks as it does on your lips.
  • Mascara and eyeliner… any kind will do for touch-ups! This is why I recommend using those free mini-products you can get when you purchase something at a beauty counter, Sephora, or online. If you’re one of the many people who never knew what to do with all of those free mini-products, they’re not only perfect for trying out a new product, but also a fantastic space-saving solution for touch-ups!
  • Concealer. Keeping a small tube or pot of your favorite concealer on-hand is ideal for quick touch-ups or to conceal a zit that’s just waiting to pop up at any moment!

That’s it! You really only need a few things when it comes to touch-ups for school or at work. Another approach to creating a great touch-up kit is to invest in a palette. I love Bobbi Brown palettes for this purpose, and a good option for school and work is their Beauty Rules Face Palette. This compact palette will easily fit inside a backpack or desk drawer, and includes 4 gorgeous eye shadows, a black cream eyeliner pencil, 2 cheek colors, 3 lip glosses, and a mirror! You can find similar palettes at varying price points at your local Sephora as well.

So, what’s in your touch-up kit? Let me know in the comment section below!

P.S. Check back tomorrow for my favorite cosmetic cases to store your touch-up kit in for school or work. You can get the one featured in the photo above from Sephora HERE.
